JUNIOR CLUB KIT
I would direct everyone’s attention to our online club shop where kit can be purchased directly from Kukri and delivered to your door:
I would encourage everyone to have some Bangor Hockey club kit for the season ahead. Please note that our only kit requirement for this season is that all players wishing to take part in competitive fixtures MUST purchase a Kukri youth playing shirt from the club shop.
All previous kit can continue to be worn to training.
Additional kit (hoodies, jackets etc.) can also be purchased if desired but there is no requirement to do so.
We do not hold any stock so all orders must be made directly with Kukri and please be aware of the timescales above when ordering kit
Linked to the kit issue, mentioned above, we are currently on the lookout for a new youth sponsor for the coming season. If you or anyone you know would like to consider this or discuss options then please contact me.
As we continue to grow the need for help grows also. Across all our age groups we are blessed with an excellent group of dedicated lead coaches. Naturally it would be brilliant if there were more like these to get involved (and that is something that we are trying to develop) but currently that is not possible as not everyone has been lucky enough to grow up playing hockey. Therefore, we are going to try and develop our own new breed, from our (hopefully willing) parents. Whilst our coaches have vast experience of playing and coaching hockey and can organise and run sessions effectively it can be hard to manage the number of kids involved at a session, therefore we are in desperate need for more volunteers in an assistant-coach / manager / zookeeper capacity. How involved you get is entirely up to you but the role would primarily involve helping to keep order at sessions with some cone laying / picking up so no hockey specific experience is required. If you have children that attend / have attended and you would have time to come along to our sessions to lend a hand it would be very welcome and allow us to keep growing in a safe and enjoyable environment. If you would have the slightest interest or would just like to discuss further then please get in touch with me to chat through in a bit more detail. PLEASE SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THIS – THE MORE HELP WE HAVE THE BETTER!!!
CHILD WELFARE & PROTECTION
Bangor Men’s Hockey Club are fully committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment to play sport and as such we have updated our child welfare and protection policy for the coming season. Details of this can be found on our website and you will see some changes to our registration form as a result. This includes guidelines for parents and children and therefore I would ask that you familiarise yourselves with this information and our club contacts.
Hopefully you find all of this information useful and I look forward to seeing you all as the season starts. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspect of our youth hockey programme in more detail then please do not hesitate to contact me.
