Fees for this season remain unchanged at £75 and £35 for each subsequent child.

Unfortunately, this season we will not be accepting NEW applications for girls i.e. those that have not attended our sessions before.  All girls that have previously attended are welcome to continue attending.

Unlike previous seasons we will be holding a series of registration nights to make it easier to collect names and fees, this will also ensure valuable training time is not taken up with collecting forms etc. The dates for these sessions are as follows:

Tuesday 5 September

Tuesday 19 September

Tuesday 17 October

Someone will be available between 7.30pm to 8pm in the covered area outside the main reception at Aurora to collect forms & fees and I would ask that as many as possible attend the pre-season session on Tuesday 5 September so we have details in advance of the sessions starting.  Forms can be completed at this time although I have attached a copy which can be completed in advance.

Last season we were fortunate to be able to provide a playing top and hoodie for all members thanks to the support of our Youth Hockey sponsors. Unfortunately, we do not currently have the same level of sponsorship for this season and therefore the club are not in a position to fund kit for everyone alone. As an alternative, I would direct everyone’s attention to our club shop where kit can be purchased directly from Kukri and delivered to your door:

Online Junior Club Shop

I would encourage everyone to have some Bangor hockey club kit for the season ahead. Please note that our only kit requirement for this season is that all players wishing to take part in competitive fixtures MUST purchase a Kukri youth tee / playing shirt from the club shop – the cost for this is £12.50 and delivery will be made to your home within 15 working days from order. Unfortunately, our previous kit cannot be worn to these fixtures due to a change of colours. All previous kit can continue to be worn to training.

Additional kit (hoodies, jackets etc.) can also be purchased if desired but there is no requirement to do so.

We do not hold any stock so all orders must be made directly with Kukri and please be aware of the timescales above when ordering kit

Linked to the kit issue, mentioned above, we are currently on the lookout for a new youth sponsor for the coming season. If you or anyone you know would like to consider this or discuss options then please contact me.

As we continue to grow the need for help grows also.  Across all our age groups we are blessed with an excellent group of dedicated lead coaches.  Naturally it would be brilliant if there were more like these to get involved (and that is something that we are trying to develop) but currently that is not possible as not everyone has been lucky enough to grow up playing hockey.  Therefore, we are going to try and develop our own new breed, from our (hopefully willing) parents.  Whilst our coaches have vast experience of playing and coaching hockey and can organise and run sessions effectively it can be hard to manage the number of kids involved at a session, therefore we are in desperate need for more volunteers in an assistant-coach / manager / zookeeper capacity.  How involved you get is entirely up to you but the role would primarily involve helping to keep order at sessions with some cone laying / picking up so no hockey specific experience is required.  If you have children that attend / have attended and you would have time to come along to our sessions to lend a hand it would be very welcome and allow us to keep growing in a safe and enjoyable environment.  If you would have the slightest interest or would just like to discuss further then please get in touch with me to chat through in a bit more detail. PLEASE SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THIS – THE MORE HELP WE HAVE THE BETTER!!!

Bangor Men’s Hockey Club are fully committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment to play sport and as such we have updated our child welfare and protection policy for the coming season.  Details of this can be found on our website and you will see some changes to our registration form as a result.  This includes guidelines for parents and children and therefore I would ask that you familiarise yourselves with this information and our club contacts.

Hopefully you find all of this information useful and I look forward to seeing you all as the season starts. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspect of our youth hockey programme in more detail then please do not hesitate to contact me.
