On a cold day in
picturesque Tallaght, Bangor 2nd XI lined up against
Glenanne 2nd XI hoping to secure themselves a place in the
next round of the Irish Junior Cup.
Bangor dominated the early period of the game, winning short corners
and coming close of several occasions but to no avail. It was the home
team however who managed to break the deadlock midway through the
first half with a break away goal, closely followed by a second from a
penalty stroke.
2-0 to Glenanne at half time.
In the second half Banger dominated the possession but failed to
capitalise on this and it was the home team who got the all-important
next goal. This led to a frantic final 15 minutes and with the play
spread and Banger looking for a way back into the game Glenanne scored
a 4th to put it beyond the reach of Banger.
Final score 4 – 0 to Glenanne.
