"5ths Title Victory"

The 5th XI secured their third consecutive league title as they ran out 3-2 winners against Down 2nds in the Junior League 4 title playoff.

Two goals from Mike Ferguson and one from Tim Cook was enough to give the 5ths a well deserved victory.

"Player of the Month"

Congratulations to 6th XI player Connor Savage for being March's recipient of the 2006/07 season of the Richard Schwartz player of the month award. Connor has been an important member of the 6ths in their quest for promotion this season from Junior League 6 with the team finishing in 3rd place and narrowly missing promotion. Connor plays on the left wing for the team and has scored 18 goals this season putting him currently 5th in the club’s goal scoring chart. Connor is also currently in the Bangor Grammar School 1XI squad.

"Club Dinner"

Close to 90 attended the annual club dinner this year at the Marine Court Hotel - a quite splendid turnout with players, ex players and guests spanning a fair  number of decades. Former players such as John Nelson, Harry McDonagh, Ted Jemphrey, Ken Boal, George Stevenson all turned out to enjoy proceedings, one highlight being the special presentation made to Walter Dowdall on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Team players of the year were announced at the dinner. Please click here to see who won the awards.

"Training and Pitch News"

Club training has resumed at Ballykillaire.  As you are perhaps aware the Council intend to carry out remedial work on both pitches before laying 2 new surfaces. The original intention was that the work would be carried out in August and September and indeed, this was still the schedule until two weeks ago. Now, after considerable discussion with the Council over the summer, there will be minor repair work carried out on Pitch 2 and then later on Pitch 1.  We have pitch 2 available to facilitate matches on Saturday and the training times are as follows -

Monday 11th - 6.30 - 8 pm Club Training
             8pm on - 1st and 2nd X1 training

Monday 18th until further notice - All training 7.30- 9pm

Please remember that we are trying to accommodate necessary work being carried out on the pitches as well as attempting
to fulfil training and fixture obligations. These arrangements may change due to the work being carried out. Appropriate details will be posted on the website should they become available. Please check back regularly
