Harlequins 4ths 5-1 Bangor 6ths

HEAVY AWAY DEFEAT FOR BANGOR

The Sixths suffered a heavy defeat against table topping Harlequins Fourths on Saturday, losing 5-1.

From the start Harlequins were all over Bangor and one a short corner after five minutes.  From this they took the lead, and it was downhill from there.  They soon went 2-0 in front when Bangor goalkeeper Mark Russell was lobbed from the top of the circle.  They made it 3-0 just before half time and Harlequins were cruising.

The second half wasn’t much better from a Bangor perspective, and Harlequins took advantage of sloppy Bangor play to make it 4-0.  Then Adam Douglas made a mazy run from midfield, and had a nice one two with Phil Campbell, then slotted it past the Harlequins keeper to make it 4-1.  There was no chance of a comeback, and after a few decent saves by the Bangor ‘keeper and some great interceptions by Duncan Morris and Ryan Garland, Harlequins made it 5-1 just before full time.

Thanks to John Mitchell and Matthew Neill-McCready for umpiring.  Man of the Match was Mark Russell.
